Bacon Wrapped Blue Cheese Stuffed Dates

So it’s been quite awhile since I last posted something. Guess I can chalk that up to the winter blues!  Now that the weather has warmed up and it’s starting to feel like spring I thought I would post a recipe perfect for the upcoming BBQ season!  It’s not a really recipe per se but rather a quick and easy appetizer that also tastes good.  By the way if you are watching what you eat you may want to skip this, though if you’re like me and more active during the warmer months, feel free to indulge!

The ingredients you’ll need are:  whole dates, blue cheese, and bacon strips cut in half.

The assembly is super simple! Begin with cutting a slit into the dates lengthwise and removing the pit.  Next, take some bluecheese and stuff them into the cavity of the dates. Then take 1/2 a bacon strip, wrap it around the stuffed date and secure with a toothpick.  You can either bake these in your oven at 400 degrees until the bacon is nice and crispy or you  can grill them!  Either way you make them,  these sweet and salty treats are sure to be a crowd pleaser. Hope you enjoy!
